Herpes scare?

I had unprotected sex with this girl several weeks ago overseas. I didn't have any symptoms since I cam back a week later. I then had sex with my girlfriend and she is shaved but her pubic hair was starting to grow out. It felt like her hair was causing me to irritate but I am unsure. The next morning my penis began to feel irritated and cut. I didn't have any symptoms of herpes but I am unsure. After a 1-2 days the head of my penis began to itch and it turn red. Little bumps began to show up on the head but not anywhere else. I could see from my sharft that it was dried and red and I could feel cuts but can't really pin point where. I don't have a fevers nor any swelling. The only thing I've noticed is that my gums began to bleed while i brushed my teeth. This never happen before. I'm not sure what it is and my doctor is out of town as a result i can not get tested because I would need a referral from him to a specialist. Can you please tell me what these symptoms are and what STDs it links up too? The bumps are ust red bumps no white heads or anything. Not sure if they are lesion but its just the bumps healing and there is no blood or puss.

nah, lymph nodes in the neck would not be true with a genital herpes outbreak. the tears would raise concern of herpes but you seem to have a lot of dryness up in there that might be some sort of skin problem from maybe a new detergeant or something. It doesn't sound like herpes to me. Get some 1% Steroid cream and apply it to all the dry areas and try to refrain from wearing tight clothes.

i had protected intercourse (4 times) and unprotected genital contact before intercourse with a guy ... last contact was 1 week back...
The guy recently told me that he has hsv both orally and genitally...--  he said he got the infection 12 yars ago and his last outbreak was 4 years back...  and that since we had protected sex i wouldnt get it...

i now remember that after the first 2 times we had sex..  i developed mild itching and  unpleasant smelling white  discharge ....
i thought i may have a mild yeast infection and it cleared 2 days later...
i asked him to change his condom brand thinkign maybe i was allergic to what he was using,,,

last week i developed a cut on my vagina... i was wearing tight jeans and walking my dog when i had a stinging pain...  like i cut myself..
i came home and foound myself bleeding slightly form a small cut near my clitoris...
The cut healed by the next morning with no sign except slightly flaky dry skin in the area..

i had a feelign of general dryness around my vagina ...so i put jhonsons baby oil on my vagina and thighs.....
shortly thereafter i developed mosquitoe bite like itchy very dry bumps on my upper inner thigh...
the area is no longer itchy but the raised bumps are still there a week later ... although they are not bumps anymore but just slightly uneven skin texture...

2 days back i again found another paper-cut on the same spot as last week..

also the lymph node on the right side of my neck seems a little swollen...  for 1 week now
but the lymph nodes near my thigh are normal...
i have no oral symptoms

is this herpes.. ??

That may sound like good advice, but the whole 'low risk' thing kinda makes people think 'NO RISK', but I got herpes from oral sex... the FIRST TIME..no intercourse at all!  AAANNDD talk about low risk, he didnt' even have an active cold sore...had not had one in YYEEAARRSS...  My doctor explained it to me like this- "lets say for example it takes a viral count of 10 (a TOTALLY made up number, it's just for illistrative purposes) to have a VISIBLE cold sore.  Your partner could have had a viral count of 9...enough to have the virus all in the saliva, but not enough to make him tingle or have a sore.  that count of 9 was enough to transmit the virus'.

so, yeah, the risk is low, but it's still a low R-I-S-K.

Oh...well let me ask... are you saying 'shouldn't get tested the first time you THINK you have contracted it?' or the first time you've had sex with that particular partner?

I don't know. It seems like it could happen anytime, even if it just so happens to be your one and only time having unprotected sex. Sucks though. You can never be absolutely sure until you get a medical test.

according to the doctor you shouldnt even get tested for herpes based on one time unprotected sex b/c the risk is too low -does anyone have any thoughts on this>?

I am not a doctor but small red dots the next day should not be attributed to a new herpes infection.  I feel for you, I am going thru the same things right now and have to wait to get tested again in January.  Keep your head up and do not drive yourself crazy with anxiety.

Thanks Army Guy...people like tish176 shouldn't be here to pass judgement. Enough as it is to think you have something and deal with people like that. Btw, the red bumps are tiny and not in crop form. It started to appear the day after I had sex with my gf. If it was herpes would it appear so quickly? I told her that I had a rash on my penis so i told her if she has some sort of sypmtoms to see a doctor.  Leecheese I'm also the same, uncut. I think it might have been irritated but I I'll just have to wait and see.

The sysmptoms you describe could be attributed to a non-sexual medical issue, potentially nothing serious.  It could also be an indicator of herpes.  I recommend that you do not jump to the herpes conlusion though.  You do not need a doctors referral for testing.  Do an internet search for herpes testing and there are multiple sites that offer Herpes testing, probably in your town if not close by.  You would have to pay out of pocket but this would offer answers in lieu of obvious blisters that would require a culture test by a doctor.  Average cost around $130 for IgG.  If you do decide to get tested do a little research and get a good IgG test for herpes at 12-16 weeks past exposure.  I know this seems like a life time but it is the reality of herpes.  Although this sounds horrible I would not tell your current GF.  Here's why.  The odds are if you have something there is a chance you have already passed it on to her, in which case she would only freak out and that would not help any one, this is assuming you are confident that you guys are not sleeping around and she won't pass it to anyone else.   From here on insist on condom sex and avoid oral.  This will guard her from any potential harm and give you piece of mind until you can get tested at 12-16 weeks.  If after that you would find out the unfortunate you should tell her as people have a right to know, in my opinion. Don't worry about what tish176 said.  People like that only pass judgement on this site and almost always never offer sound advice.  I hope this helps you.

Yeah, kind of the same symptoms here. I've had sex with only one partner for two years now, and yesterday while taking a shower I got an itching sensation right below my head (I'm not circumcised, by the way), accompanied by tiny pin-head sized bumps, with no whiteheads, puss or blood. I guess it turned red from scratching it a bit. It does not feel sore and that area is not swollen. I also noticed similar sized red bumps on the head of my penis, though I noticed these since before I was ever sexually active. What can it be. It's got me worried.
