Herpes treatment

Does anyone know how close doctors are to creating a cure for both strands of the HSV 1 & 2 virus?

I guess that by reversing the repressive effects of Herpes treatment drugs to the extent that the virus comes right out of the spinal cortex and then to be hit with an immense repressive dose repreatedly, this might be enough to get rid of the virus for good?

Wishful thinking though I guess? It's always good to have hope though

We doubt that a cure will be around anytime soon. There is not really a cure for viruses.  They have to run their course and either be killed by the immune system or we have vaccines for them.
