Herpes with Boyfriend now?

I have been in a relationship going on 3 years. Have only been with him.  I recently had 2 outbreaks of herpes. I noticed it one time after sex I was sore down there. Thought nothing of it. Then we had sex again. This time it was worse and I saw my doctor and I have herpes 2. We were on a little break. I just don't understand why I have it now after 2 years of having sex with him. Why didn't I get it before. He swears he wasn't with anyone. I have a hard time believing him. .?

If you have only been with him then you got it from him and either just contacted it or have had it for a while. In cases like this, the only way for a confirmation of time is having a positive swab of a sore and a negative blood test.

He is waiting for his results now. But, what I don't understand is why after 2 years would I get it. It makes me wonder if he got it from someone else then past it to me. Or is it possible to just get now after sleeping with him for years?

Hi, what numbers came up with the blood test? If you do have hsv2 and you have only been with him then you got it from him as you cant get it any other way then genital rubbing contact.

I was tested and it came back positive for herpes 2

Hi, you need to be tested to confirm you have hsv2 genital. Either a blood test or a swab of a recent sore.
