Herpes??

Few years ago, I was told by my Dr that I have Herpes 2 after taking a blood test and some symptoms like severe itch at vaginal regional and frequent UTI, do not remember the result.

Recently, another blood test was taken for herpes and the result show: HSV type 2 IgG Ab 0.18. What does this result indicate?? Will my partner get herpes based on the result??

you will never get a 0 as a result due to the way they do the tests. your result was a clear negative so definitely call monday to get the results of the first test so I can see what testing they did.

Thanks for your reply... If I don't remember wrongly, the result back then was pretty high. I even recheck the blood test twice and sad to say that both result came back positive. I took Valtrex as and when I don't feel right. The doctor even told me that herpes will be with you for life, there is always a chance the virus will recurrent and you will spread to your partner.

Grace, If I am negative with herpes, the value should be o.oo instead of 0.18?? does it mean that I have the Hsv 2 Ab but not active??  Your reply would be a great help...

your hsv2 result you posted is negative for herpes.

if you can get the results of your first test, I'll gladly take a look at those for you to see if you were correctly tested then or not too.
