Hidden herpes?

HISTORY:
I tested positive for HSV2 about 2 months ago. I think that I got it from my boyfriend who was a-symptomatic until 3 months ago when he acquired an unfamiliar lesion on his penis. We had sex anyway, I got herpes - bad idea. but, that is beside the points for which I am writing. 1. I had a very severe first outbreak: high fever (102-104deg.) for a week straight. Along with my herpes I tested positive for Group B Strep and was medicated for a vaginal Leucorrhoea. These illnesses were probably related to the stress that my vagina was undergoing. Also, it might be important to mention that the virus was covering my cervix. I dont know if this is normal, but the non-gynological doctors were extremely worried, and told me that I would have to have a cervical biopsy. Since the initial outbreak I have had about 5 more outbreaks. Pretty much, I have have spent more time with outbreaks than not.

I got on pharmaceutical suppressive therapy for about a month and stopped taking it as I learned more about natural surpressive therapy (l-lysine v Argenine, immune-strengthening, topicals, oxygenation, diet, etc.) I have not had much luck eliminating outbreaks this way,but they are much less severe. When I was on the suppressive therapy I could still feel the symptoms in my body. Like the virus really wanted to attack, and it was peeking its ugly head between the cell walls, but couldn't make it all the way out. I still had clues that an outbreak was impending.

MY SYMPTOMS:
I have outbreaks on the outside of my vagina, and, consistent with the initial visits I can only imagine that it remains on my cervix. When i feel an outbreak coming on my feet and ankles ache, I become emotionally vulnerable and sometimes volatile. Before and during each outbreak I feel little little burn-like sensations in random places all over my body, on my rear, hips, top of thigh, breasts, side, stomach, and back. They seem to wane after taking a dose of L-Lysine. During and immediately following the initial outbreak I had blood in my stool (about 2 weeks), and now I am having an outbreak and I am coughing up slight amounts of blood.

MY QUESTIONS:
I am worried that the virus has spread though the inside of my body. I have done my fair share of research and I have yet to find similar complaints. Does anyone know what this could be... I dont know but I imagine this is sort of how the cousin, Shingles (H-Zoster), works. HAS IT MUTATED?

Finally, even though my boyfriend had an outbreak before I got sick (he had a sore with pain in the groin and testicles and was slightly ill feeling), he is currently having a much more severe outbreak, much like my first outbreak, with high fever, different-looking blisters in places he had never had a problem, very weak and achy, etc.
I am afraid the I gave him my mutated for of our virus.

I might sound off-the-rocked, but I can assure you that I am no hypochondriac, I just feel like I am effected by this virus differently than the stories I have heard from others. Anyone experiencing the same symptoms or have any insight on any issue? I appreciate you.

With love for my fellow sufferers,
A

You don't have to have anal sex to get herpes lesions there. When you are infected, the virus goes into the sacral nerve ganglia and it can cause lesions anywhere in the entire area it supplies which includes the anal area.  You could have lesions there that when you stool it's irritating them or it could be hemorrhoids too - an exam will help your provider figure that out.  If you've been constipated during all of this that too can irritate and cause bleeding.

Also the first ob can take 4-6 weeks to fully run its course. I think what you are thinking are back to back ob's has actually probably been the first ob taking its time to run its course and then perhaps a recurrence. Unfortunately antivirals can only do so much to help with a newly acquired herpes infection so sometimes the first ob is a total booger until its run its course :(    a  recurrence within the first 2 months of being infected is also pretty common.  Personally I'd go back to taking the acyclovir or whichever antiviral you were given ( acyclovir is cheapest ) and take suppressive therapy for a few months to keep the herpes under better control until you get this all figured out.

If you are a college student - the student health center should be able to test you for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections and make sure the strep b cleared up too for you cheaply.

I hae not been back to my doctor. he did give me a pap smear while I was there and it came back normal. There is no possibility of internal anal herpes, there was no contact, so the blood in the stool was likely not from that. The blood in the stool did go away. I have been to atleast 4 doctors to get to this point and, as a poor student, it is pretty hard. I appreciate your advice.
I will be seen by an OBGYN. If anyone has any suggestions of good doc's in San Antonio or Austin, please let me know. Thank you.
Thank you Grace!

Herpes lesions on the cervix are normal especially with a newly acquired infection plus it sounds like you had a cervicitis going on too which probably made things look even worse especially if the practioner doesn't see a lot of this kind of thing.

Have you been back to your provider in the last 2 months? If not you should go and have a full work up done again. It sounds like more than just herpes going on which explains the frequent symptoms as well as not really responding as you had wished to the herpes antivirals.  The herbal supplements you have been taking haven't really been shown to do any good either which is why they aren't helping to boot :(   You need retested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally again while there too.

Blood in the stool can be related to herpes lesions inside the anus as well as hemorrhoids are frequently associated with causing it.

Since you are coughing up blood though you need to go and be seen TODAY.  If that means going to an ER then go and be seen there. This is not something to ignore and I highly doubt that it has anything to do with herpes. You seem to have a lot going on at one time now.

Also I certainly wouldn't worry about having the herpes virus mutate or anything of that sort.  That really isn't something that happens.
