High level of HSV 1

My blood test last week  showed HSV 1 is positive (>50), but HSV 2 is negative.
I have not have any breakout or any cold sore or any related symptoms for more than a year.
After the result, my doctor prescribed me Famciclovir 500mg twice/day for 1 month.
I understand that we only take this medicine if we either have shingle or cold sore (oral or genital), but in my situation I have neither. I called the doctor office and the nurse told me the medicine should be taken based on the test result.
Any opinions here would be very appreciated.

Thank you JPBME.
After doing some researches on internet, I am very suspicious about my doctor prescription purpose. Therefore, even I already got the medicine in my hand, I have not taken any yet. Any other opinions about this from the forum would be appreciated.

I find it odd that the doctor would prescribe you medicine based on a blood test that is in probably 90% of cases a positive result. I'm not a doctor but I have no idea why you would need prescription medication in this case (Famciclovir) when you are not experiencing a herpes outbreak.
