Thanks for keeping us updated.

Thanks! Terri,
I have a lot of update since then. For some reason, last week I got Urine Track Infection again. It was the same symptions that I had in last Oct. I thought it was Chlamydia again. I went to my primary Dr who runs all the tests for me. She confirmed it's just urine infection. The Chlamydia test shows negative. The tests also showed I have HSV-1 and Baterial Vaginalis. These should be the reasons I have been having minor itchy problem occasionally.
I also got chance to see my OB Dr. I got all of my previous test results. Since year 2000, I had Chlamydia test almost every year with Pap Smear (all Negative). She also had the notes I took 7-day Amoxicillin before the Pap Smear test. Amoxicillin is the prescription for Chlamydia for pregnant woman.
Anyway, based on all known facts:
1) I did not have symptom for Chlamydia
2) I took 7-day Amoxicillin before the test
3) My husband does not have it
4) I DO NOT have any other sex partner during my whole life.
5) The lab test is 95% accuracy.
6) I fell into the 5% incident before when I had spinal test.
Finally, we believe the test results are FALSE.
This gives me a big lesson: whenever there is a Positive test, especially for a bad thing, always try to have a confirmation test before taking any medicine.
Thanks.
Asymptomatic infection just means there are no symptoms - if a person is infected, they would test positive anyway.
The confirmation test would have been done from the same sample, if it is gone, then its too late.
I'm not saying it is from your sex partner 100%, but if the test is correct, which now we can't be 100% sure of because the sample is gone, then this is a sexually transmitted infection. I have no more answers than Dr. Hook. I'm sorry, I know you would like to be absolutely certain.
My opinion is that you need to take a big step backwards and see what is present in your marriage. Can you get past this uncertainty and move on? Can you live with not knowing 100% what happened? It sounds like perhaps not.
Terri
You did not answer one of my questions.
Dr Hook mentioned one possibility of Asymptomatic infection. If it's Asymptomatic infection, will the test result show negative? From your answer, it seems like you are 100% sure that Chlamydia is from sex partner. Would you please confirm this?
Or are you saying the following statement (from the "Handbook of Ocular Disease Management") is NOT RIGHT.
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Chlamydia trachomatis is an intracellular parasite that contains its own DNA and RNA. The sub-group A causes chlamydia infections. the serotypes A, B, Ba and C cause trachoma, and serotypes D through K produce adult inclusion conjunctivitis. The mode of oscular transmission may be hand contact from a site of genital infection to the eye, laboratory accidents, a mother infecting the newborn, shared cosmetics and occasionally an improperly chlorinated hot tub.
Regarding confirmation, once the test is done, I don't think the lab still keeps the same sample. We did not suspect the test results, so we did not take the 2nd test for confirmation, I just took antibiotics from Dr's prescription once we got the results. My husband went to his Dr, who took the sample from him and then give him 7-day antibiotics. I am going back next week to see my Dr for follow up.
Thanks for suggesting us to see counselor. But if Chlamydia is 100% from other sex partner, I would not bother to see the counselor. I can not forgive him actullay cheated me but came back saying I cheated him. This is not accetable no matter what. But I still wonder the possiblity of he's innocent. I don't have any problem at all. If he does not trust me, then we lost the foundation of love. I won't regret if we separate because of this.
Anyway, if you answer my question I would appreciate.
I'm sorry you are having this difficulty, I can tell you are upset by this as anyone would be. I think Dr. Hook's response covered everything that there is to be said about the possibilities for your test results. I would say, however, that your husband, if he did get infected, didn't get infected from a tub, that's just not accurate. Do you know if any confirmatory testing was done on your chlamydia sample, did you ask about that? I thought you or your doctor might have, given the confusion. If yes, then maybe that will help sort this out.
Given that you there is really not going to be any clear answer about the chlamydia, probably, do you think you two can work this out in your marriage? Will there just be too many trust issues? Do you have a counselor that the two of you could see together? I must be so hard, just not knowing what happened.
