Please Help!

I recently (about 6 days ago) noticed a group of 4 dark scabs on the base of my penis.  I never noticed any open sores or bumps there until these black scabs appeared.  I freaked out and picked off the scabs.  These dark scabs were accompanied by a rash on my lower left leg.  I went to two different doctors and they both diagnosed me with a yeast infection. I was prescribed a cream and was told it would take care of the yeast infection in about 2 weeks.  Should I still be worried about these scrapes on the base of my penis or will they heal with the yeast infection?  Planned Parenthood said they cannot test for herpes unless there are symptoms and they said I should not worry about that because it's a simple yeast infection.

Both doctors diagnosed you as having yeast infection. No need to think otherwise given that and the description of your symptoms.

Aside from that, PP is wrong about having to be symptomatic though. If you want to know your herpes status, get the test leapoffaith described.

It certainly doesn't sound like Herpes.  GH generally does not present itself on the base of the penis.  However, if you are concerned, see your family doctor and request a type specific IgG blood test for HSV-1 and HSV-2.
