Hsv1 or Hsv2

Hi everyone.

On 7 November I got a burn-like sores and my muscle was ache on my scrotum. On 12 November, I went to the doctor and the doctor said that it was herpes...

Later on 17 November I tested for HSV-1 and HSV-2, and the result was HSV-1 positive IgG but negative for IgM. For HSV-2, the result was negative for both gG and igM.

I'm confused about I got HSV-1 or HSV-2.. HSV-1 is positive, but I never have a fever blister..
I had an oral sex on 3 October, but I used condom when perform it.

I think I got herpes on that day, but is it possible to have a IgG blood test positive about 7 weeks from initial infections?

http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn_oralherpes.cfm  is a terrific link for more reading on hsv1 orally.  Odds are that your hsv1 is oral and not genital.

At this point, if symptoms return, return promptly for a lesion culture and typing. otherwise repeat your blood test 4 months post encounter for hsv2.

So they did a culture on your active symptoms then? what was the result?

had you ever had a herpes blood test prior to this? Can you recall ever having cold sores?

yes, it was a lesion. I remember on November 6, my muscle ached and then November 7 , left side of my scrotum was very itchy.
