I NEED YOUR HELP

by dannyboy1234, Jul 09, 2009 09:46PM
I am a 26 year old male.  About 3 years ago, you could say that I had sex for the first time.  However, because I have always been a very conservative person, this invloved a quick encounter in which I second guessed what I was doing and was only "inside" for maybe 20 seconds.  About 2 months after that I got really sick.  My tonsils were really swollen and I had a terrible fever etc.  I was tested for mono and my mono spot came back positive.  Along with the symptoms, I had itching in my genitals that was pretty pronounced.  This itching lasted for several months (I'd say 8 to 10 months). I asked the doctor whether it could be herpes and he said no as I had no visible sores or anything.  However, as this was the first time I had had sex I was extremely worried about my symptoms.  I have had no contact with that woman since that night.  I eventually recovered from the mono and the itching also went away over time.

For the last about 2 years I have been dating a my current girlfiriend.  We have been having unprotected sex for some time.  About 3 months ago, I noticed one night after she had pleasured me that I had a couple scabs on my penis.  One on the left and one on the right.  I thought nothing of it b/c of my limited history and hers.  However, about a week ago, I noticed another scab on the left side of my penis a day after masterbating (masturbating).  I don't masterbate really hard or anything either.  I have never noticed any blisters or had any pain.  The blister fell off in about a day or so last week.  Then today after masterbating (masturbating), I noticed another red sore on my penis just left of the middle.  However, before masterbating (masturbating) I examined my penis and noticed nothing.  I have been paying really close attention to it since the scab last week.

Is it possible to have one scab show up one week and then another a week later?  Especially considering this wouldn't be my first outbreak if I actually do have herpes (considering the scabs a few months back).  Also, is it possible to have no blisters and all of the sudden see scabs show up without noticing any pain?  Also, if I do have herpes, do you think it is from the first girl that I was with or my present girlfriend?  Could the itching have been due to herpes and then all of the sudden 3 years later have my first sores with no pain and then 3 months later have 2 outbreaks in one week?  I AMO GOING CRAZY HERE AND I COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP.  MY LIMITED HISTORY MAKES ME SO SKEPTICAL AND YET EVEN MORE WORRIED AS THIS IS OBVIOUSLY THE TYPE OF THING THAT KEPT ME AWAY FROM SEX.  What else could this be if it is not sex?  I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS.

Sorry, I would like to add that tonight after masturbating is the first time that I have ever noticed a red spot (no blister and no pain) before seeing the scab.

Sorry I am typing too quickly in my frantic state.  When I say above that the "blister fell off in about a day or so last week" I meant the "scab fell off in a day or so last week."  Sorry.

Have you been communicating all of this with your now girlfriend?... Has she noticed any sypmtoms?  Pains/Flu?

I communicated to her regarding the scabs 3 months ago...she basically laughed it off as if there was no chance it was anything serious.  I have been away for the last two months so I have not brought up the symptoms of the last two weeks.  She has never indicated that she has had such symptoms.

And, thank you for the response Helentroy, I am in desperate need of any words.

This doesn't really sound like what most people typically experience with Herpes. I think you should have a Dr check out any "scabs" that you have. Not because I think its herpes but because scabs on genitals should be check out....I don't think you have anything to worry about really but still go talk to a Dr about it....

I would agree with verysad - both instances 3 years ago and current day don't sound like herpes. Yes, obviously something is going on, so see your doc and get it checked out.

Really both partners should know each others STD/herpes status, especially with unprotected sex. Apart from your symptoms, either one of you could have herpes and not even know it.

Verysaddude and petal130, thank you so  much for your help.  I will definitely get in touch with a doctor shortly.  I really can't thank you enough for taking the time to post.  All my best.
