I shared a cup with someone last night and woke up to sore lips this morning.

I was at a small get together and i shared an alcoholic drink after another person. This morning I woke up to some crust that lined the inner part of my lip where they meet. Along the same area, and on both lips, were really red lines that looked bloody (but really were not). My lips have also been kind of burning as if they were chapped. These past couple of days have been extremely hot so i assumed my lips were drying from the heat and also maybe from the alcohol; on top of that, before i shared the cup, my lips started to feel chapped.  A few hours ago i noticed little colorless bumps on my lips and became suspicious that i may have contracted something. Could this just be my lips are chapped from the heat and alcohol or did i contract oral herpes? Do symptoms show up as early as about 12 hours? i also believe i do not have any history with oral herpes. THX!

You won't contract hsv this way and the next day would be to soon for hsv symptoms.
