I know that there is not a cure for herpes.....BUT my friends have told that they were listening to the radio and heard some things concerning a cure for herpes....SO i want to know is it true that there is really a cure....

Actually, I've read here: http://std.about.com/od/herpes/f/microrna.htm and somewhere on CNN.com, I believe, about a potential cure for HSV-1. If you read the article, it states that researchers may have found what makes HSV-1 go into hiding, and if they can produce a drug that makes it come out of hiding, they could get rid of it once and for all with use of antiviral medications. However, this is still in the research/testing phase, and even if it is successful, it still won't be available for years.

Anyways, not trying to give anyone false hope here, but regardless of the outcome of this research, this is a good step forward!

Oh, and on WebMD there is a video article about a possible vaccine for herpes (don't know which type) that is currently being tested.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens!
