If i put neosporin on what i think is herpes, will it make it worse?

So i think i might have herpies but im not quite sure, but if i put neosporin on it will it make it worse or better?

don't put anything on this at this point - be seen and get a proper exam and testing done. since you also received oral sex from your p artner, make sure you get a lesion culture and typing done.

neosporin is for bacterial infections. herpes is a viral infection.  It also can be very irritating on our sensitive genital skin and cause more issues than you had before you used it. I don't recommend its use on the genital area unless specifically told to do so by a medical provider.

if you think you have herpes, be seen within 48 hours of the appearance of symptoms for a proper exam and lesion culture to confirm your status.
