Interpretation of IgG Herpes 2 Test Result

My girlfriend and I just received the IgG test results for herpes 2. Her test value was 11, which is the highest number of the "indeterminate" range. My test result was "positive" with a test value of 20.

We had unprotected sex one time. That was 13 days before our blood was taken for the IgG tests.

Question: How likely is it that my gf's test result of 11 was caused by unprotected sex with me? I'm not expecting a statistical answer. Something like "probable", "likely", "unlikely", "very unlikely", etc. would be very helpful.

Thanks so much!

unfortunately I can't really help you with your test results since you are outside of the US and didn't have a test that I am familiar with.   The test we have in the US that returns with values like that has a very poor track record and we always recommend repeating testing with different testing for better answers.

I suggest looking for a herpes support group in your area that has someone who is familiar with the test they use who can better help you.

No, I'm in a Central American country. BTW, my girlfriend tested negative for syphilis, hepatitis B, HIV, and chlamidia.

Also, she has no herpes symptoms.

I apologize for messing up my very first question and making it difficult for you to answer.

*** I'm really looking for the approximate likelihood that our one unprotected sexual episode... all by itself and apart from all other factors... COULD have caused this result in my gf's test value.

I'm concerned that her test result could be indeterminate because of the short time since our unprotected sex and that the test value will increase as the herpes anti-bodies become more evident in her system.

In my question above, please assume that my gf has had sex with no other person for at least four months prior to the herpes test. Thanks!
