Thank you Grace for answering. I will try the suppressive therapy. I will go see my provider if I see something else going on. Thank you
I agree with Grace on the Suppressive Therapy, prior to starting it myself I was having 3 outbreaks a month, I think I was actually bringing them on myself through stressing over them and waiting for every tingle I felt to turn into an outbreak.Since starting Suprressive Therapy I have had no outbreaks at all and don't even think about Herpes now, whereas before it was on my mind 24/7 because of the number of outbreaks I was having.
It is a personal choice though in Herpes management.

I highly recommend switching to taking one of the herpes antivirals every single day as suppressive therapy. I think you need to take herpes out of what is going on. If you are still having symptoms this often after being on suppressive therapy for a month then definitely you need to return to the doctors for further work up. You could have an allergy to something, vaginitis or another dermatological condition contributing to everything going on down yonder too so suppressive therapy will help you figure out what is herpes and what isn't because suppressive therapy will take the herpes out of it all for the most part.

Thank you for answering Grace
When I was diagnosed they took a sample from my herpes (ulcers) and it came out positive. They told me I had herpes type 2. I did a STD test twice in the last 2 months and they said I had nothing else. I also did a colposcopy and I had nothing. My pap test was clear too. I did some basic blood test and thyroid and everything is clear. I also did an intense urine test and still nothing. So when you talk about me having more than herpes, what do you mean exactly? I know it is herpes because it is always the same symptoms. I just don't understand why I have so many recurrence....why do you think?
I don't want to take valtrex everyday but when I have an attack I take the dosage the doctor prescribed me, that is 4 and other 4 12 hours later.
Thank you for answering to this
If you think you are having herpes ob's 4x/month then probably you have more than just herpes going on. You need to follow up on this with your provider to find out what else is going on besides herpes.
when you were diagnosed - how did they do it? Are you taking any medications for your herpes?
