In June, I went for a general check-up and decided to get a lot of different std tests. I tested positive for HSV2 with an IgG test with a 1.73. I was really surprised because I've never had any symptoms before. The doctor explained that it could be asymptomatic. My partner got tested and he got a negative result - we had had unprotected sex for three months, thinking that we were both std-free. I decided to retest in July after my partner tested negative. My second IgG test was also positive 1.59. I've talked to my previous partners and they have gotten tested and were negative. I'm really confused. Is it possible to have two false-positives? I talked to my doctor and she seemed to think the test was pretty reliable. Is there another test? Is there any other way to get herpes besides sexual contact?
