OB Frequency

Hi Grace,  I've been diagnosed with genital herpes via swab culture just unfortunately wasn't typed and not able to be typed any further.  I already have HSV1 orally, but since I don't know if I have HSV1 or HSV2 genitally (anus) can you provide me any information on how frequent my OB will be from the first OB?

My OB latest about 11 days from start to finish, but I still feel a tingle and itch at times even though it's healed, is this normal?  Also, since this was my first OB is it common for it to come back days after it's healed and start all over again, could this be the reason for the slight itch, tingle I'm feeling?  I'm checking my genitals all the time it's driving me insane and the anus is not an easy place to check, going crazy :(

Thanks for answering my question. I was just curious if it ran the same pattern as oral hsv1 when it comes to recurrent OBs and their locations.
I did read the westoverheights chapters, really great information on there, I learned alot.  Even recommend my bf to read it to get better educated.  I may check into the book too in the future.  Thanks for everything, take care. Lisa

They usually appear in the same general area but they can show up anywhere in the entire boxer short area .

The free herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific resource to learn more at. If you can afford it, terri warren's new book "the good news about the bad news" is awesome and goes into way more details than her handbook does.

Sorry about the additional post i'll remember in the future.

My question is now that I have genital herpes, should I expect to see the OBs in the same location each time?    Oral HSV1 I get in the same location on the lip each time, so I'm curious about the location for genital herpes, new location each time or same area in general?  Right now I dont know how often I'm going to have an OB, so I'm looking for a general consensus from people that have HSV2 and where their recurrent OBs are generally located.  Do they wind up being in the same place where the first OB was or do they appear in a different spot each time for each OB.

it's easiest for us if you just keep adding any new questions/comments/updates to your original thread instead of making a new one each time. thank you for your future cooperation with this.  It's explained in our read before posting post on this forum if you have any questions.

there's no reason to keep checking your genitals all the time. Unless it's something that is long lasting and very obvious, it's just not worth it.  don't hesitate to return to your provider to get checked for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too.

If you have a history of cold sores, it's not likely it's hsv1 genitally now at this point.
