Is this herpes? penis irritation

Hi there, I'm looking for some advice on some symptoms which I am very, very anxious about.

The inside of my penis opening is quite irritated, if I could describe it I would say it appears 'bloodshot'. All the blood vessels seem redder and more noticeable than normal. There is no pain on urination, but sometimes AFTER I have urinated it stings for a while, which I think I make worse by focussing on it. There is no discharge and no blisters, spots, pimples or anything. There is no blisters on the outside. Some areas inside the penis opening are redder than others but they seem to fade and other areas become redder.

I have had this feeling for a good while now, on and off. I first noticed the redness for two weeks at the start of December, then it went away for 2 weeks and then it came back at the start of January and it has been there for almost 4 weeks this time.

I have seen 4 doctors about this, two STD doctors and two GP's. 2 said it looked normal and 2 said it looked slightly irritated but nothing concerning. They suggested perhaps its fungal. I also dribble some urine after I pee, could this be irritating my urethra?

But I am very worried about this, I have become obsessed by it.

Does any of this sound like herpes? I'd be grateful for any advice.

we don't typically diagnose prostatitis in young males with blood testing. The manual exam of your prostate is much more useful.

since you still have symptoms, see an urologist for further evaluation.

Hi, thanks for your responses, they are re-assuring. Grace, I am relieved you dont think its herpes.

The doc did a urine test for infections and said it was clear, he suggested prostatitis (I also feel a mild urge to pee very often), they did a blood test for my prostate and it came back normal.

I just read so much stuff on the internet and about atypical herpes symptoms, I cant get the idea out of my head. But there is definitely something irritating my urethra, its not painful more irritating and stingy.

if you have seen two std doctors and they were not concerned, i would really try not to worry anymore.

this doesn't sound like herpes at all.

have they done urine testing?  have they manually inspected your prostate?

I should add, there is also a small cut-like thing next to the entrance to my urethra. Ive heard about herpes and paper cuts so Im freaking out. I showed it to my GP who said he thinks its just an abbrasion from me constantly checking the area, which I am doing. It doesnt appear to be sore and its not changed in appearance since it showed up.
