Does this sound like herpes

10 weeks ago i had unprotected sex with a man i don't know his history. Since then I've a had a few incidences of vaginal burning soreness and irritation. The gum clinic said they were not testing for herpes because i did not get any lesions. In in Ireland and the igg blood test is not done in gum clinic. For the last few days it has got worse very sore and a lot of burning i think i have felt 2-3 tiny lumps under the skin for awhile but they never change or turn into ulcers or open sores. Dies this sound like hsv2? I have type 1 orally since childhood could i get type 1 genitally so the symptoms are a bit milder? Does asymptomatic herpes still cause pain and burning just without lesions?

I think you need to put your mind at ease and move on at least in terms of thinking around herpes. Here are a few thoughts that may help.

UK/Ireland has one of the lowest incidence of HSV2 in the world, less than 3% of caucasian males in the region.

Having oral HSV1 provides very, very strong protection from genital HSV1. This should be dismissed as an option.

Your symptoms do not sound herpes.

Sorry that should if said after a lot of begging and crying my gp done the blood test which was neg type 2 pos type 1. I thought having type 1 orally protects against getting type 1 genitally? My doctor will not order the test again this time should i just move on? I could prefer a test online from a different country which would cost me 100 pounds should i do that? Or will i get the same result again

Just back from another visit to the still clinic the doctor examined me thoroughly and said i do not have herpes the little lumps are normal glands. I mentioned asymptomatic heroes and she said no if that was the case i wouldn't be experiencing nothing at all. The blood teat is not done in Ireland but last tear after a similar episode and a lot of crying g and vegging i managed to get my go to do one which then had to be sent to a specialist lab. The results were neg hsv2 pos hsv1 so i know i did not have type 2 before this 1 man. I have type 1 orally since childhood so could i have contracted type 1 genitally now? As far as the doctor is concerned i do not have herpes and there is no explanation for this genital pain and burning. What should i do? Assume i don't have it and move on or live thinking i have an incurable disease when i might not? I would hate to ever put anyone in harm that i sleep with in future

Have you been to see a gynecologist? This could be many things and hsv with no lesions or cuts is unlikely

As far as i have been able to find out the igg blood test is not available at all in ireland.  there are no lesions to do a culture test so i dont know what to do. as far as the doctor in the gum clinic is concerened if there are no lesions it is not herpes. i can not live with this pain and uncertainty. i dont know what my options are

Asymptimatic hsv has no symptoms but asymptomaric hsv isn't as common as people think. Most of the time they are mild symptoms people pass off as somerhing ekse or they are so mild they get ignored. Your chances of contracting hsv from any single sexual encounter is very low. 1 in a 1000. Thats if you know your partner is possitive.
Most initial outbreaks will take place 3-10 days after exposure and rarely out to twenty days. Bumps under the skin is not a typical hsv sign at all. In woman hsv can appear as small cuts almost like a paper cut
Maybe you can go to a differant dr and tell them your story but include you had lesions before.  Will they test you then?
