I posted this once. But now I have an update and I am more confused than I originally was.
Last April, I found a sore genitally. It was painful and debilitating. I had recently got a new sexual partner (boyfriend) at the time and we had been sexually involved for around a month. I went to my OB, he did a swab test, and visually diagnosed as HSV. He gave me valtrex and it helped it go away within 3-4 days. The swab came back negative. (He did two, the first didn't get enough and the second was done after I was already on meds and it was mostly healed.) The OB was not respectful of my situation therefore I stopped seeing him. I had another outbreak so I went to my GP, I had them blood test me and they prescribed valtrex for the outbreak which again helped and healed the outbreak. The blood test came back negative but it was only one month since I had the original outbreak. I went to a new OB finally and I had probably had had 6 outbreaks at that point. My last one is current, it started worse than my primary OB and at this point I'm on suppressive and on meds to take when currently on an outbreak. Valtrex no longer is making a different as it is better and now down to only 1 sore. However, this is day 45, it started on October 1st and is itchy, tingly, and uncomfortable. I was swabbed and had another blood test, I came back negative for everything AGAIN. (All STDS, HAV, HPV, bacterial infection and yeast infection-all negative.) My boyfriend had already tested positive for HSV 1. Is it possible I really don't have herpes? Or do I and it won't show up on tests? We've been involved sexually for over 6 months now, kissing, oral sex, and vaginal sex, all unprotected. He has never had an outbreak and I constantly do. Could he have herpes and I have something completely seperate? This sore will not go away, it's uncomfortable, valtrex no longer works and I'm always testing negative. (My new OB prescribed me famvir thinking I have a weak immune system and that it would fix it.) Please help.
Now I have been on famvir hoping it will make it go away. I also started taking zinc supplements and lysine. I read those can help heal outbreaks. I am now taking 1,500 mg of lysine a day and 100mg of zinc a day for about 3 days now plus the famvir which is now on the 7th day. I still have the sore that I originally had with no change, it previously was excruciating pain for 2 weeks and now it does not hurt unless I purposely irritate it. But also now, I have a sore on the other side as well, itchy and tingly but does not hurt. It is not currently fully developed, so I'm not sure if it will hurt eventually but it currently does not.
I don't know what to do anymore.
