Thank you so much. I appreciate it!!!!
Thank you. So you suggest just waiting to see if I have symptoms to retest?
For the record she claimed she had hsv1 and not hsv2. Not sure if that makes a difference.
That sums it up well enough. Eben if she was shedding most exposures won't lead to infection. Hsv is not a suoer contagious virus. Now your exposure that was of concern (unprotected brief oenetration an light rubbing) was low risk but certainly not zero. Most primary outbreaks happen within 10 days. Around 4-5 is the average. All you can do is wait and see unfortunately. Then if nothing happens you can test at 12 weeks to be sure
The statistic is from a study done in Wich a group of couples (one person in the couple had hsv2 aka genital herpes) I believe it was 100 had sex 3 times a week for a year, unprotected, only 2 or 3 of the couples spread the virus to their SO feelingundone is more knowledgeable on the study than as I have forgotten some details on the study I'm sure. But he is correct
You are certainly not screwed. This type of exposure is low risk. If you had unorotected sex this would be roughly a 1 in a 1000 chance. Your unprotected contact was brief with lower friction. Your risk isn't zero but it is very very low
