Male with Herpes...I think?

I'm a 38 year old man.  Just recently tested for genital herpes, however, the text came back negative.  The doctor prescribed me with VALTREX (which seemed to be a waste).I don't understand why I'm having what appears to be breakouts (ulcer looking sores on my scrotum that come and go) and a reoccuring sore on the shaft of my penis.  Really confused.  Also, have been diagnosed with MRSA.  Don't know if these sores are a result of MRSA or a STD?

Yes, I have a regular partner.  We were both had blood tests for herpes in February of this year.  I received oral sex outside of my marriage about 3yrs ago, so that prompted the test.  However, I was negative and she turned out to be positive.  I'm confused because I'm the one having outbreaks.  Seemingly consistantly.  Mrsa outbreaks or what?  I'm thinking about having another blood test at another site just to make sure that it was not a mistake.

You need to see your doctor again. there are much better choices of antibiotics for you for mrsa. Also if it won't clear up with oral antibiotics, you might need different treatment.

Do you have a regular partner? If so have they been tested for herpes? If you don't have a regular partner, how long after the last time you had sex did you have the blood test done?

I have been taking minocycline for about 6mths now, but it doesn't seem to be doing much good. (I don't like taking medicine...I'm only 38) I didn't know if there was another antibiotic that is available that may be more effective.

I took a blood test for herpes.

MRSA can definitely cause all these symptoms.  I assume you are on antibiotics for that.  Continue to follow up on that with your provider.

How did they test you for herpes?
