I am a female. Received oral sex. No intercourse. 6 Days later felt burning while peeing. I ran to the Urgent care and the lady was a nurse and didn't seem to know much about HSV1 at all. She said if below it becomes HSV2, when I know it does not. She then did an exam and said there was one area of irritation, but didn't look like herpes. She did a swab for Herpes, and every STD, and also BV, yeast. The next day I went to my OBGYN for her to look as well and she said it was normal vaginal tissue, where the hymen had broke. Sher said it could be irritation starting a week later from a new partner, saliva, ect. and to put on A&D ointment and I am sensitive down there. A week later and it still hurts. All tests, culture came back negative. It is right inside at the beginning of the vaginal canal. Looks like little tiny breaks or cuts and a little redness, there may be one tiny 'crater,' maybe, but it does not look anything like a cold sore. the area is a bit redder than the rest as well.
He had no cold sore at the time and the oral sex was on the shorter side, timewise. I have never had a cold sore in my life, but I know I can still have oral hsv1 without ever having a cold sore. I do not know about his status.
