Does it mean I have HSV-1 and 2?
And as HSV IgG EIA is too high, what what exactly does it mean?
I do not have any herpes symptoms now. Though, When I was a kid, I had some cold sores which sounds normal.
It looks like perhaps you had a combined IgG test, which is pretty much worthless. You should have have an IgG type specific blood test. Yes, if you've had cold sores, then most likely you do have HSV1.
idk this whole thing confuses the hell out of me. I went to the Doc. and asked for an HSV 1& 2 six weeks after I used the girl at works chap stick (BIGGG NONO) and she would always drink off my cups, i never thought anything of it til I seen her with a cold sore and found out that she has HSV. So I went and tested for it after 6 weeks of using her chap stick and the doc said it was negitive for both. Then I read that it can take 12 weeks to show up, so I tested again (mean while I havn't had any other risk no kissing no sharing of drinks, chap stick etc.) And the doc said I had HSV1 oral herpes ugh! he said your levels are very low and its not a big deal. I never had a cold sore until they told me I had it and I freaked out and got depressed and then a cold sore came it looked like a small pimple on the lining of my lip
and i went that same day to the doc he didn't even look at it he said ok gave me the anti virals and in four days everything was back to normal. I don't get why it took that long to come out positive. And what the hell does a low level mean?? I have read that by the age of 50 50-90% of people will have come incontact with HSV 1. so it's only a matter of time and i don't see how some people think HSV1 is an std i didn't kiss the girl at work or screw her chap stick i only used it....lesson learned the hard way dont use other people's ****!!!!!!
I can best help if you call and get the actual results ofyour herpes igg blood testing to post here - e.g. hsv1 igg .23 and hsv2 igg .34 or whatever they are.
