Negative for HSV 2 after 12 weeks but had many symptoms?

So I met a girl from work that I started to talk to for several months, we had unprotected sex 3 times and once protected. She ended up calling one day and told me she tested positive for hsv 2..... so ovb I have been kinda freaking out about this because of the sex that happened 3 times unprotected, and because of that I feel like there is no way I didn't catch it from her. Before I started to exsparance symptons I had a large ring worm out break on my groin, I used the meds the doctor gave me and it slowly started to go away until jock itch appeared and my balls turned red and I felt a itching and burning sensation, this went away and came back twice, I then started to exsparance little shiny red patches on the foreskin of my penis and the head of my penis had a cold sensation. I also felt some pressure I wouldn't say pain in my lower back, I kept stretching out my back threw out the day and a few days later my mid back to the left was swelling but I started to ice it and a few days later it started to go away. Could these symptons be a bad  fungal infection and me just straining my back at work or could it be herpes???
I got tested 4 weeks after exposure and then again at 12 weeks both negative and my index value was low at .1. Could I have maybe lucked out in this situation? It feels like it's impossible that I'm ok because I did have sex with her 3 times unprotected. My Doc tells me I'm fine and I don't need to test again but I can't believe him. Thanks so much it would be great if someone could shine a light on all of this.  The stress has been killing me.

Was also wondering, If Someone has a low index value of .1 on the 12th week vs something higher like .4, is the .1 better to have what's the difference  ??????

I have never had or heard of a person testing negative at 12 weeks and then positive at 16. I have read the same but again 12 weeks really is conclusive.

Yes. It means you do not have hsv. I already told you hsv is not super contagious. Even if there was Shedding at that moment, most exposures will not lead to transmission. Your 12 weeks test is accurate and your stress is the only thing at this point you need to get passed. You can ask the question in as many ways as you like but the answer won't change.
There was a study done on 20 couples where one partner has hsv2 and the other doesn't. They averaged sex at least 3 times a week (unprotected) no antibodies viral meds either. The only protection was no sex during an obvious outbreak. In a year's time only one couple passed the virus to their partner.

Alright thanks that's reassuring, when I search online people sometimes say 12 weeks is a little to soon to really know and they recommend 12-16. What's the difference between testing at 12 weeks then to 16 weeks, is that  considered a big gap  where antibodys can develop ? Also do those symptons sound like a fungal infection, and can ring worm develop into other fungal infections? Thanks

I would believe your test results. If you ever have a lesion or anything else your concerned about swabbed and tested. Your odds from 3 unprotected exposures was very low risk. It's not a super contagious infection. The odds are very much in your favor that you did not contract hsv.

Thanks for your response ! I just have a few questions if you or anyone could answer, I just don't believe my results because of the unprotected sex, how  accurate  Are my results after 12 weeks ? Also does a low index value of 0.1 at 12 weeks mean anything ?
