What do I have

I have very sensitive skin and so shaving often causes problems, even raise bumps.  My sexual partners in the past are negative for everything, even have the papers to prove it.  My last time was nearly 8 months ago, and this is the FIRST sign of anything that I have been remotely worried about.  I work outside in the heat and walk miles a day, still the rash that has formed on top of the base of my penis is concerning me.  There were NO bumps there 2 days ago, then what looked and felt like a small bruise yesterday morning approx 2 mm in dia.  By the afternoon the skin on top of it had fallen off leaving the top layer gone.  I lift things and bump into things all the time so I have no idea if this is something to be worried about or a work related injury.  It is tender to the touch, but does not hurt, itch, or burn.  Again, its only tender if I touch it.  It also appears that there is a second, separate place like it forming next to it.  I am going to a clinic in the morning.  Please help educate a very nervous man.

Just thought that I would respond one last time now that all my results in.  Long story short, I am negative for every std or sti.  I had a reaction to something I put on myself and the humid and rough working conditions did not help any.  I had type specific Igg tests for herpes done as well as for everything else.  All 100% negative.

Here was my biggest mistake.  At the first sign of my symptoms, I got online and looked at the hundreds of herpes pictures you can find on various sites.  I wandered and worried for too long before I got tested.  Dont be like me.  This site has been helpful and given me lots of information, but it CANNOT diagnose you.  Dont wait, dont wander and look around at all the worst case scenarios online. GO GET TESTED.  That is the best common sense, non medical piece of advice I can give.

Thanks to Grace for being understanding and answering my questions.

Are there any specific names for the tests?  Like will I need to request something particular?  I keep hearing stories of people who thought they were tested for everything but in fact they were not.

you can have urine testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea. blood testing for syphilis, herpes and hiv. discuss if it's worth having hepatitis testing done or not too.

That is all I think it is.  But I am a worrier, and would like to get tested.  Not for just herpes,  but for everything.  What do I tell the physician at the clinic to make sure I have all the tests, all the RIGHT tests done so there are NO DOUBT when the results come in.  Thanks

this doesn't sound like herpes going on.

if you think this is more than irritation that just needs some time and tlc to heal, see your provider.

More than anything, it has been almost 8 months since I had intercourse last.  From then till now there have been zero come and go herpes symptoms.  Wouldnt it be uncommon for the FIRST outbreak to occur 8 months after a contact?  But you are correct, that is after the fact that I believe the girl(s) to be clean

Could be many things.  Best thing is to be seen quick as possible and have the doctor swab the rash. No reason to freak out about herpes yet, especially when being so confident about past partners STD status.
