Can this be herpes?

Hey, I'm a 17 year old male and I have a few questions hoping someone has an answer. So about 4 months ago I had sexual contact both oral and vaginal with my ex girlfriend. Just recently mid summer I'm starting to get flu like symptoms. I have awful headaches and a sore throat, along with body aches. Now I know herpes can produce these symptoms, however I am not experianxing any symptoms on my genitals. No tingling no itching no redness no sores. I'm wondering, can I experience only the flu like symptoms and take that as a sign of herpes?
