Oral Herpes!?

I already know to have Herpes 1. I got the visible sores 9 days after having sex with my new girlfriend! For being my first time the sore was small and it dry up in about four days with very little pain or discomforts. I already being taking daily Lysine supplements for muscle mass, and do consider myself being in perfect health! I did not felt any of the usual initial symptoms, like fever, a cold, or back pains, ectera before or after the sores appeared. I just applied pure Tea Tree oil directly to the sore, and sealed it with Petroleum jelly, and in three days it worked like a charm, even thou the Tree Tea oil almost cracked my lips, and did sting quite a bit, but I felt very safe using this natural and effective antiviral remedy!!

So now to my next question! til today I haven't felt any itchiness, tingling, or soreness on my genitals! its being 21 days since my Cold sore appeared and gone, but haven't have any signs of Herpes on my genitals! does that mean I dodged a bullet? even thou the HVS 1 virus is already in my system!!!

She had a Herpes culture done! from what I've read on reputable medical websites, blood test is not as reliable as a culture in identifying the HSV virus one may have!?

There is a small chance that people can become infected in more than one location before antibodies to the first infection take hold in the body.

In your case, there is a pretty big chance you already have HSV1, more than half the population do.

If you really think that you have a new infection, then no oral sex for say at least 3 months to be extra careful. However, I think a blood test for you today will reveal HSV1 antibodies and then you and your partner are nicely matched in the HSV stakes. Did she have a blood test?

Wow! thank you so much for your encouraging words! she was nice and honest enough to tell me after a recent routine Dermatologist check up for her Psoriasis skin condition. While initially in shock I still love her too much to just leave her in the dust, so I am not mad at her for giving it to me! although you maybe right about me already having had the HSV1 antibodies since my youth, since indeed is quite common among the general population. And yes we used condoms, even thou with Herpes is not necessarily useful!? so you are saying if the HSV1 virus already manifested as a cold sore in my body, and not on my genitals at this point, that more then likely I will not get it in my genitals!?

It is much more likely you have had HSV1 since your youth. The timing of the outbreak and symptoms leads more to this conclusion... if it was indeed a cold sore at all?

HSV impacts a single location typically, a nerve ganglion. It does not travel internally. As you have an established HSV1 infection, you will not get a genital HSV1 infection. So no need for concerns.

How do you know your partner has HSV1?
