Penis Abrasion

Hello!

I performed oral sex on my new boyfriend and had noticed some marks on his penis that worried me. About an inch below the head, there was a distinct red area about 1/2 inch large that looked like there was a scab in the final process of healing (slightly hardened & red). Below that, there were a few of the same semi-circular marks. I noticed him itching the area throughout the day. He says he tested negative for STDs and when asked about it, he said it was an abrasion due to a broken blood vessel from masturbation. Is this a real phenomen that could occur from masturbation? And what is the prevalence? Might this be a sign of herpes or another STD? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

well definitely he needs to pursue testing on his end to see what his status is.

no, you won't give yourself genital herpes like that.

we did talk about it prior to being intimate, and that's when he mentioned the "penis abrasion" which i have never heard about. last question: if i were to have oral herpes, is that something that i could spread by touching my mouth and then touching my genital alrea? (transmission to myself of oral to genital herpes)

you'd have to wait a few months to test to see if you contracted it from this encounter. better to get him tested to see what his status is to see if you even have to test later or not.

did you two talk about std's and testing prior to being intimate together?

Thanks for your response! I've tested negative for all STDs, including herpes, prior to being with him. I was planning on getting tested again, but was also curious if I could get the test immediately, or if it takes a few weeks for the virus to show in the blood. Any ideas?

odds are that neither of you have ever been tested for herpes before. why not you both get herpes igg blood testing done to see who has what so you know for sure?
