Penis Burning for 3 weeks

I had oral sex with a guy about 6 months back. The next day I just saw some thick white discharge under my foreskin. I get such a discharge sometimes get after a long masturbation. There was no other symptoms: no fever, no chills, no blisters or pain.

Now, for the last 3 weeks I have been having a burning sensation on the head of my penis. This burning seems to feel better when I pee or walk around or have an erection. It gets worse if I wear tight pants or sit for a long time. When I went to my urologist 2 weeks ago, she found the opening to be slightly reddish with a small tear. She said I should just let it heal and said that I had nothing to worry. She also ordered a Chlamydia and Gonorrea test, which came negative. As my burning continued, I went to see a general physician. He asked if my back was hurting and I said NO. He said it might be herpes without doing any tests even though I did not have any sores or blisters. He just said that this burning sensation could be due to my body fighting the herpes virus. He didn't suggest any follow-up or tests or medication. He just seemed to be in a hurry. I don't know how much to believe this guy since he just heard from me that my penis has been burning for weeks and simply said it could be herpes. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. It has been driving me mad. I am also not sure how much believe in STD tests for herpes, which I haven't yet had. Please advice.

odds are this isn't herpes. see your provider for a better work up for your continued symptoms.

I have never had a sensitive genital skin. It's so bad that even a slight touch causes the penis glans to burn for hours. It also makes the glans inflame. This has been going on for almost 2 months now. This is why I don't think this is normal.

The last two days my anus was also burning. I applied anti-rash cream and it subsided. I don't know if the two are related.

why not follow the advice you were given?  sensitive genital skin certainly is not unusual at all.

My urologist said that I don't have anything STD-related. My penis tip is still burning if it touches my boxers. My penile glans are also very sensitive. The urologist said it could all be just because I was over examining my penis. I have left my penis alone for a while and still find it to be very sensitive. I don't know who can help me battle this.

the neosporin can cause issues too. it might even be blocking the skin pores and giving you acne on the penis head too.

at least you know what it's not now at this point  :)

Just a small note, the dots are not clustered together. They are somewhat sporadic below the penis tip. BTW, those spots don't hurt or itch: didn't feel a thing when the doctors touched them. I did NOT try myself to squeeze them to see if any pus would come out.

Some more update:

Negative result for HSV 2 IgG. I am so glad. However, when I went to see my doctor yesterday, she saw 3-4 small dots just below the end of penis tip. This is where the head joins foreskin. 3 of them have a white center and 1 is all flesh color. She said it could be genital wart. 2 weeks ago, when I showed those dots (back then there were only 2) to my other doctor, she said it was just whiteheads that come on penis and it was common. So, I'm confused.

I have only had unprotected vaginal sex with my wife (about 1.5 months back). Before then, I have had only oral sex from other people. The last oral sex was about 5 months ago. There are also rimming involved. I'm sure my wife is 100% clean. I'm not sure if genital warts could spread through oral sex. My current doctor is going to send me to a urologist.

As for the symptoms, my burning of penis head subsided quite a bit. However, I still have a red urethral opening, which is burning. My penis head is still sensitive. I am applying antibiotic cream prescribed by my doctor. I will keep you posted. However, the wart-thing is bothering me.

Thank you so much Grace. All of my STD (excluding herpes) tests have come back negative. My doctor hasn't ordered a herpes test yet.

As an update, 4 days back after severe burning, I saw two horizontal cuts on my penis head. The next day the burning subsiding drastically. However, the day after that I tried to clean up the penis and the burning started again. For the last 3 days, I feel a bit dizzy after eating food. Also, two days ago I felt very tired. Now, my penis head bottom is swollen. I don't know what is going on. I just want my life back. I have been so depressed lately thinking about the danger I might be subjecting my life to. This is not fun.

it would be very unusual for herpes to just now be causing  you symptoms 6 months after the encounter. have you had any partners since then?

A recurrence of a previous herpes infection would've run its course by now even without treatment. odds are this isn't herpes going on.

continue to follow up with your urologist as needed.
