Penis Hot/Burninig Sensation

Grace, below is a copy from Isthisadream.  I am in almost exactly the same situation and have been for a couple of weeks.

"Hi, I've been tested at 10 weeks post exposure with negative on Herpeselect 2 IGG.  Last week I felt like my scrotum was hot and tingly and this week I feel like my skin immediately beneath the tip (circumsized part, I guess) is hot.  On both occassions it my lymphs in the groin area may feel a little tender.

I have no bumps/lesions, etc.  I am handling myself alot to inspect.

1.  Is it possible to have migrating symptoms (scrotum last week, penis this week) or likely psychosomatic?

2.  How common is a burning sensation or is it more often lesions/bumps, etc?

3.  Should I continue to test or wait a while and see if symptoms get worse?

Thanks. "

HOW DO I DETERMINE IF THIS IS JOCK ITCH OR HERPES?  I DO KNOW I WAS WITH A LADY WHO HAS HERPES... BUT I TOO TESTED NEGATIVE AT 9 WEEKS...  WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND.  USUALLY, MY BURNING SENSATION DOESN'T BEGIN UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY.  WHEN I WAKE UP, THERE IS NEVER ANY BURNING...  COULD THIS BE FROM CONSTANT SELF INSPECTION AND IN MY CASE IT HAS BEEN 4 MONTHS POST SEX.  THE BURNING STARTED ABOUT 3.5 MONTHS POST LAST SEXUAL ENCOUNTER.

Grace, thanks!  It may all be mental in addition to constant self inspection.

Do you see lots of people that seroconvert after 9 wks?  My gf had her ob around 510 and she. Said it was gone 7 days later...  I guess she was most contagious during these 7 days?

no I would not. continue to follow up with your providers to explore non-herpes causes of your symptoms at this point.

Grace, obviously I am struggling with this.

Is Dr. Hook usually right?

Would you retest if you were me?

Dr Hook already answered your questions about the likelihood of this being genital herpes.

herpes will not cause issues just later in the day. when it's active, it's all annoyance all the time until it heals.
