Please help...odds of getting oral herpes from giving oral

.What are the chances of getting oral herpes from a one time encounter. I gave unprotected oral to a guy who said he was clean and i didnt see any lesions, or sores. This happened Weds. night around 11...last night...sunday.. i started thinking about it and i feel that  the corner of my left lip where the two meet feels alittle dry, ive been rubbing it but it feels alittle dry, not burninig or itching. I put neosporin on it and vitamin E so my chapped lips but im terrified that i could have gotten oral herpes from this encounter. I shaved on saturday and also went tanning, but i only started feeling this last night...Please help...I just want to know what is the odds of contracting herpes from blowing a guy once with no lesions or sores present.

usually cold sores are the symptom, if you are even going to have any symptoms.

get tested to know your status for future partners. follow up with your provider for your symptoms if they concern you. stop looking inside your mouth and poking at this too!

thank you for your comment, someone else i spoke to said that it wasn  that high risk but i like to give myself panic attacks...jk....i am thinking it is just irritation too as its only on the corner of th  lip and i wa  told that herpes if i wa  expose  doesnt usally form there...it mostly just feels dry most likely from me constantly opening my mouth to look at it, rubbing an  licking it, an  just me being  overly sensitive about it.

first off- performing oral sex is a low risk for any std, Not high risk as you were erroneously told.

2nd - there does not have to be obvious symptoms present for herpes to be transmitted. that said, you still were not at high risk at all for herpes from this encounter. if the person you performed oral on had hsv1 genitally, it hardly ever sheds and you aren't more likely to contract it just because it's hsv1. Hsv2 genitally also isn't frequently transmitted to the oral area - to greatly simplify it, it doesn't "like" the oral area.

so your symptoms you are having ? they don't sound like herpes going on. I'd stop putting neosporin on them too ( unless it's the neosporin lip stuff for chapped lips ).  this sounds more like irritation or even an angular cheilitis going on more than anything.

have you ever been tested for herpes to know your status? if not, while it's on your mind, not a bad idea to seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to know your status. it's not a part of routine std testing so you might not have ever been tested for it.

we also do not recommend routine oral testing for std's from an encounter like this. no reason to seek out testing for chlamydia or gonorrhea from this since you've had no symptoms suggestive of either.

always protect yourself and only have protected sexual contact unless it's a long term partner whose std status you are sure of !!!  Not worth risking your health or giving yourself reason to worry!

even if it happened on weds, i first started feeling dry on one side last night, sunday night, but i started rubbing it and stuff so i probably am overthinking that the friction i caused to it could be herpes...i am just scared of the overall risk of catching it after a one time thing...i didnt see anything on his penis no sores or anything

no yea i admit it was stupid and i regret it esp. after this feeling i have...giving myself panic attacks over it...

Now I heard that herpes sores usually dont affect the corners of the mouth where the 2 lips meet, so can i assume that the dryness i feel there is just from me overreacting and constantly rubbing the one side?  my lips dont burn or itch, just the corner feels dry, i put neosporin on it but whenever i think that i can have herpes it feels worse, i can feel more dryness bc i keep rubbing it and looking at it. only when i rub it does it burn alittle but no bad, just for a few seconds...so most likey not herpes

If no sores present your ok as that is how the virus is passed. I wouldnt be worrying about herpes. The ones your can get however are Chlamydia and Gono but you would have throat symptoms of discharge about 5 days after. Unprotected sex with stranger is not recommended.

genetal herpes is not commonly passed from the genital to the mouth

i didnt see any lesions or sores...does that help with lowering the risk of getting oral herpes if he had genital herpes?
