Could this be Herpes?

I have a cluster of 3-4 small bubble looking formations on the left side on the base of my penis, there is also 1 one the right side.  I have had them for a little longer than a week now, first time I have ever had these and I'm 23 and have been with the same partner for about 5 years(wife) and I am the only person she has ever had sex with. They are not painful and have not burst causing sores.  I also have microscopic white dots on the shaft of my penis.  Are these any cause for concern.  As I said they are not painful although there is a slight itchiness from time to time.  Please help.

You can both get blood tests now.  they really should've followed cdc guidelines and had the cultured typed to know if it's hsv1 or hsv2.

I got the results today and I am herpes positive =-(  .  They said they will have to do a blood test to determine which type though.  I can't beleive this, I am stunned.  This is the first time I have EVER noticed an OB  and it happened with my wife who has never had sex with anyone but me.

Could it possibly be a false positive?

How long should we wait before we both go get a blood test?

The swab was taken a few days after my wife and I had sex, as I thought the outbreak was just a few pimples.

it's a week into things so odds are that even if this herpes, it's going to come back negative on the swab.  At this point you and your wife should pursue type specific herpes igg blood tests too.

They did a swab test, but I won't get the results for about another week.  I have had about 6 partners prior to our relationship and we have been together for about 5 years now.  And she has only had sex with me but has done oral with one other person that I know of.

It isn't painful but does occasionally itch, just a slight itch though nothing that would make me pull my hair out.

The doctor gave me Acyclovir 400mg to take 5 times a day for 7 days.

You can't tell what type it is by looking at it. What testing did they do?  Have either you or your wife ever had partners before you got married?

Anything that isn't painful and not itchy, probably isn't herpes.

OK, I went to the doctor and said it "kind of"  looks like HSV 1.  I still don't think I have Herpes, really hope I don't.  I still have about a week before I will get the results of the test.  Can HSV1 turn into HSV2?

The pimple-like growths still havent burst and aren't painful, but I do have an itching sensation from time to time, but not where the growths are, more-so on my scrotum.  I trimmed up the area down there shortly before I noticed these growing.  Could it just be a couple of badly ingrown hairs?
