Positive in blood test

Hello,
Sorry for my english.
I've been experienced an itch and tingling on my genitals but nothing visible, I have the same sensation in parts of my body but not as bad as the genitals. I'm always aware of my genitals health, cleaning, so, It is impossible that something happened before to those parts and I did not noticed.
Blood results show HSV-I IgG and HSV-II IgG positive, I have had the same partner for more than 10 yrs and I'm pretty sure he did not cheated on me.
Doctor told me to take Zovirax for 5 days, this is my 3rd day and nothing change.
My questions are:
1. Can Herpes be hidden for more than 10 yrs?
2. Is blood test 100% the true?
3. Can I take another blood test taking Zovirax?
4. If I have the virus, my partner has it also?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks Grace for the info.

The copy of the results that I have just says "reactive".  No numbers.
I'm going to take another blood test and my partner also.

If you can get the numeric results of your blood test and post them here we might be able to better help you. Just call the clinic and ask what the results were and write them down to post here - ie hsv1 igg 8. 1 and hsv2 igg 2. 1 or whatever they are.  Has your partner been tested?

Yes herpes can not cause obvious symptoms for 10 years or more.

the blood tests do have some false positive issues sometimes which is why seeing your numeric results is helpful.

Just itching can be due to many things. did they also test your vaginal secretions for yeast and bacterial infections?  Even if you do have genital herpes, it's not the cause of everything that goes on down yonder.
