Hi All,

I'll add my developing experience to this great thread!

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/HSV2-symptoms-HSV2-IgG-false-positive/show/1778022#post_comment

A year ago, I tested negative for both HSV1 and 2 with Herpeselect.  A few weeks ago, I tested negative for HSV1, but positive for HSV2 with a result of 1.93.

The symptom I illustrated in my post turned out to be an ingrown hair.  So I'm doubtful that I've ever had an outbreak.

I've seen two doctors, both of whom indicated that their offices do not do either WB or Biokit.  I am getting very frustrated because neither of these doctors believe that false positive results are likely.  They discourage me from getting a WB or Biokit because they are highly confident that the results are accurate.

I could use advice on how to find a doctor who offers these tests.  I've called several doctors whose offices indicate that I need to schedule an appointment before they tell me if they can do the tests.

I would be grateful for any advice and what your sense is of my situation.  Should I be hopeful of this being a false positive or should I trust my doctors?  This roller-coaster of emotions and mixed opinions has been quite tough.

Thanks!

find somewhere to be seen today or tomorrow. it's best to be seen as soon as possible for symptoms like this.

you need to be seen today and get this looked at. you need tested for herpes from the lesions as well as proper testing for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too.

stop back and let us know how your appointment went . if they suspect herpes, we can help you much better with pain relief ideas and such once you've had an exam and basic testing done.

odds are that neither you nor your partner were tested for herpes with any std testing you had done too. you'll both need to look into that. at your age, hsv1 genitally from receiving oral sex is the most common genital herpes infection so be sure they are also typing your lesion culture too when you get it done.
