I was told I had hvs 2 right after christmas and a lesion on my cervix my test resaults confused me with the hvs 2 seeing I have never had a outbreak and my igg level was 1.94..so I went to another dr. and had the biopsy for the lesion on my cervix just got my results back and they said it was chronic cervixitouse.the people I talk to said the hvs igg is low but is it safe to say I do have the hvs 2 seeing I have the cerix infection?

Your welcome~ Yeah, it is a scary thing because it is sort of new and life changing. : /  A bit out of our comfort zone, so that is what scares us...  But!  I can tell you if you are indeed positive it is certainly not the end of the world.  There are plenty of really good people with this.  It is a wimpy little virus that causes sores in unpleasant spots and as time goes on it will sleep more and more.  It is looked at as a skin condition.  Lots of people get this virus and lots of people do not know they are even carrying it.  1-4 people have it.  That is a lot.  You will not be alone and there are plenty of really cool support groups online that you can find with some amazing people.  Also there are dating sites for positive people.  I hope for the best that you are indeed negative and try not to worry.  You may be worrying over nothing.  I hope this helps.  I am waiting to get tested too : ) You are not alone anglewings.  I wish you the best with your hysterectomy too.  Be sure to come back and tell us how everything goes.  Raddly

I have read women who's outbreaks appear as just a bump and may be itchy.  It seems like everyones body can act a bit different.  The best thing to do from advice on this forum is have them looked at and swabbed within 48 hours of appearing.  Get the blood test too.  I wish you the best.

Do take a deep breath. You'll be fine. The very next time you see bumps or blisters on your genitals go immediately to the doctor to get them swabbed for a PCR DNA test. Don't wait longer than 48 hours, in order to avoid a false negative.

It's common not to see symptoms immediately after contracting HSV. A lot of us don't have recognizable symptoms at all, or get our first symptoms years after contracting the virus.

A small percentage of IgG tests do not return a definitive positive (around 3.5) until 6 months past exposure, particularly when the initial positive is low. I would actually recommend going straight for the Western Blot rather than spending more money on another IgG. The Western Blot is the most conclusive test, and it's the one recommended after a confusing result.

Best to you.

Yeah, you are totally right. I am sorry, for some reason I counted three.  This does fall into the false positive range or new infection range.  If you never had an outbreak you could certainly be negative for HSV.  I've seen so many false positives on this forum it is quite ridiculous.  If you where actually positive and been on antivirals for the past 4 month I would think that your score would still go up in value.  Antivirals suppress the virus making your body create antibodies at a slower rate.  Thats why it is important to not be on them during testing because it could lead to a false negative.  If you actually are negative for HSV and been on antivirals then it would not matter.  I would say retest now and see what your values are.  If higher, this was probably a recent infection.  If lower, well then we got some issues.  Life360 does this sound like a good for her?

Beginning or end of August?  4 weeks could make a difference. You should do a retest now since it has been a month since your last test.  This is also the 4 month mark.  This next test you take will be conclusive.  If it is in the low positive range again, you may need to seek a western blot test. Sound Good?

Life360 is correct.  Be sure to abstain from sex for 3-4 months for accurate igG blood testing.  3 months test will almost certainly be where you will be at 4 months, but 4 months is conclusive.  Hope this helps~  Good luck!

Hi, your test results falls into the false positive range and would need retesting to confirm. Low positives represent either a false positive or a recent infection if tested prior to 3 months.
