Potential Second Outbreak?

I was recently diagnosed with HSV-2. My first outbreak was bad but in comparison to most, not so terrible. It's been two months since my initial outbreak and I have a feeling that I'm about to experience another. I have a sensative area in my vagina and it's tender to the touch. This is different than my initial but have read that the symptoms may differ in response to medicine. I'm already on suppresive therapy (Valtrex 1 gram/day) and was told to double up on my Valtrex but I'm concerned that it's not going to be enough. Any other ideas on what to take or do to help head-off an outbreak?

the recommended dose for recurrences is 500mg 2x/day for 3 days but no harm in taking 1gm 2x/day for 3 days to make it easier. the dose is still perfectly safe to take.

is it safe to take 2 grams of Valtrex? Most people are on 500mg and I'm already on 1 gram.

nothing else you can do other than increasing your medication.
