new relationship, suppresive therapy?

so I've been dating someone for a few months now things have definitely gotten serious and I finally had the "I have herpes" conversation with him. hardest thing I've ever had to do but surprisingly he stayed, I want to do any and everything possible to NOT put him at risk. I've had herpes for about 5 months now ive had 3 outbreaks they last about 3-5 days I only get 1 or 2 sores on my labia. my question is will suppressive therapy be benefical in this relationship? what are some suggestions as far as reducing the risk of potentially transmitting it to him? thanks in advance guys!

I think it would be worthwhile identifying the type through a blood test.

Antivirals are effective and reduce transmission rates by 50% on average! well worthwhile.

I'm sorry! They were taken from my labia both times ...do you think I should get tested again or would that be pointless? The last time was back in November

But where were the positive swabs taken from?

I've had 2 herpes cultures which tested positive. They weren't typed ...I've had 2 blood tests which were negative for herpes I ordered a copy of the blood test but it doesn't show anything other then "negative" as the result

I've reread your previous posts.

Can you summarize what herpes tests you have had and the results? Include any swab, their location and IgG blood tests.
