Do I have Herpes

Hi...

Last month after i finished my Menstrual cycle after a couple of days i had severe pain at the openening of my vagina and then next day i couldnot even sit properly....i went to see the physician she too the urine sample and said that i had UTI and then after examining she said that u have some rash at the openning so it can be herpes....
so she gave me antibiotic and antiviral....so it went away in 2 days...
But iam still very much concerned bcoz as per the causes of herpes it is next to impossible that i can have herpes...bcoz im married for 3 yrs and we both are loyal partners and we  have never had sex with anyother person before or during our relationship....
So plz help me with this that is it posible that still i can have herpes????bcoz it is an STD
Waiting for the response...

Your doctor is mistaken about the blood tests.  They are accurate and can distinguish hsv1 from hsv2.  Also ulcers inside the mouth are usually canker sores, not herpes.

www.herpesdiagnosis.com is a terrific website that has more info on testing for herpes.

Hi there
Thanks for responding...No niether of us have not been tested for herpes as the dr said that we can only go for it when i have the sores in vagina or else the result will be neagative and that blood test is not the exact way to find out since many of us have oral ulcers and so the test will be positive if either of us had the ulcers in mouth...
So ill have to see my gynic if i have sore in vagina then she will take the culture and test for herpes....
