Question about cold sores on nose

My girlfriend gets cold sore on her nose sometimes ( rarely ) only saw it two or three times in the past 6 years. How risky is her performing unprotected oral sex on me with no cold sore . ?She has some sort of pills for when it happens ( didn't ask what )

really no reason why  your blood can't be sent to a lab that does offer herpes igg blood testing. you will need to pay out of pocket for it though is my understanding of your health system.

you really can't make educated decisions about precautions until you know your full status unfortunately.

is it high risk to receive unprotected oral sex from your partner? no it is not.  totally up to the two of you. make sure you've also both fully covered other std testing too before having any unprotected sexual contact.

This is on the former planned parenthood now halifax sexual health clinic website

If you have a lesion, a doctor can swab it and send the sample to lab to confirm whether or not you have been infected with HSV-1 or HSV-2. However, if you do not have any lesions, there are no tests available in Nova Scotia that allow to you find out if you are carrying either of these viruses.
