Possible HSV-1 Self-Infection?

Hello.

First of all I'm sorry about my English but I'm not a native English speaker.

During December month I had a oral HSV-1 outbreak. (I have herpes since I my childhood). During this period (1/2 days) started a huge burning sensation at my glans and one day later a small sore appeared. It was really a tiny sore (0.1/0.2 inches) that was almost imperceptible if I wasn't worried about that burning sensation. I had this sore about 3 days. The sore was not red, not white, was not a blister and it was almost the same color as my penis color.

I went to the doctor but he didn't examined my penis and he said that maybe was a fungus or a urinary infection. But since than I am very worried cause It's so strange that I never had (since I remember) a penis wound. And a sore as appeared when I had a herpes outbreak. Since than I'm having a permanent burning sensation on my penis glans, but the same doctor says that maybe is anxiety.

I don't have sex for some time so it's impossible that I get something with someone. It's sad to say what am I saying but in the past maybe I used some saliva (I didn't know that saliva had herpes virus) in masturbation but not when I had sores on my lips. Is it possible that I made a self-infection with HSV1?

By the way. Last week I made a ELISA blood test. And I had the following results.

HSV1: IgG - 26 (twenty six)  - Positive. IgM - Negative

HSV2: IgG - Negative IgM - Negative

HIV: Negative (Both types)

Syphilis: Negative

Thank you. If you have some questions please ask me cause I will respond. But please say me something.

You'd have to ask your provider about the test you had done since you didn't have it in the US.

I'm very sorry for the late thank you, but I forgot my password and I think that I had a problem when I wrote my e-mail.

Can I be more calm about the possibility of self-transmission? The chances are really low? I'm so worried cause I don't know what I had during that days. My life changed a lot since that than.

By the way, is that value a normal value? I never saw a high value as mine. Was that a I/II test and then they made a single II test too? Or is a different test in my country (Italy)?

Grazie/Many thanks, Grace.

It's not likely you transmitted your own hsv1 oral  infection to your penis if that is your thought.  Also it would not cause continued burning for this long.

At this point continuing to follow up with your doctor is the best you can do to try to figure out what is going on.
