Herpes

I am posting this question hoping to find an answer to this problem. I hope a doctor can help me out because i cant even sleep anymore.

1) my exposure is that a friend who was cold sores was touching his mouth then directly touched my arms which had a cut. My friend didnt have a cold sore at that time but i know that it is still contagious. Can i get it that way?

1)I got test negative for herpes type 1, 2 months after my exposure. I tested negative for igm and igg. Do i still have to be worried or i dont have the virus?

Please help me out as i want an end to my problem.

Hi, you cannot contract herpes by what you describe.Needs direct skin contact to put one at risk like a wrestler.

Herpes would not realistically be transmittable through sharing lipstick. Internet tosh. The correct window is 12 weeks for a HSV free person.

Also, the idea came to me as i read that oral herpes can be contagious through sharing lipstick, so why would it not be contagious through the way i described?

does that mean it will prevent a secondary infection of the virus? like transmitting it to another body parts such as eyes or hands?

Yes seroconvert means a positive IgG antibody result.

does seroconverted means that they would be positive for an igg bloodtest?

Thanks

That was answered above, this was a zero risk exposure.

i heard that herpes is contagious from sharing chapstick or lipstick.

Which means if a person touches a lesion with the virus present then touches a person with a cut in his arms then he can get it over there (my exposure)

I don't know where the idea would come from that herpes is contagious in this way. It is a bit sad that forums such as the internet are seemingly used to fuel misconceptions.

There was no risk from what you described.

By 8 weeks some 90% of infected people would have seroconverted. You did not need to be tested for the 'exposure'.

how long does it take to build these antibodies that prohibit the same type to other body parts?

We use 3 months for conclusive but 2 would be a good indicator. A person does not have to be a doctor to be familar with herpes. When a person has hsv for a long time the body builds antibodies to aid in prohibiting transfer the same type to other body parts, If this were not so, wed have herpes breaking out all over the place and we donot.
Also hsv1 prefers the upper ganglion and hsv2 prefers the sacrum ganglion.

I would like to know if im fine or i have to be retseted again based on my test results that came out negative for both igg and igm after 2 months of possible exposure. Are you a doctor?

Not correct. If a person has hsv in one part of the body, passing the same type to another part is close to zero if possible at all. The person would be immune for the same type.
Most eye herpes is from the virus traveling up the facial nerve.

1) I heard that someone with a coldsore can transmit it to other parts of his body by touching a coldsore and then touching an area like his eyes.

2) are u a doctor?
