Recently diagnosed with hsv simplex two, need some clarifications please!

I was recently diagnosed with hsv simplex 2 through an IGG blood test. I have never had any symptoms of hsv, not even so much as a cold sore on my mouth. Could this test be inaccurate or does this mean that I might not actually have it? I'm sure you get this a lot as denial is a coping mechanism, but I can't help but ask. I can't seem to find much info on what having a IGG positive hsv test of 5.0 means. Does this mean I've had it quite some time? I understand everyone's body takes the virus accordingly, but I can't help but wonder as the number is so much higher then what I have seen in other cases online. Thanks so much for your help in advance!
