Red itchy bumps

I have a bunch of red bumps that showed up about a week after I shaved the area around my penis. They itch and look like razor burn.

I'm concerned it is herpes from receiving oral sex 5 months ago outside of my marriage. I was tested for herpes twice @ two weeks and again at  5 weeks both negative.  I have had cold sores a few times but very rarely and mild.

My question; is it possible it's herpes? How accurate are the blood tests? Should I retest?

Again your risk was from HSV-1 as HSV-2 orally is rare.  Since you have HSV-1 it is highly unlikely that you would get HSV-1 in another location.  You have antibodies that fight the infection from taking hold.

See your provider for a proper work up.

Thanks for the quick answer. I have had about 3 or 4 cold sores in my life but this was prior to the this event.

I will get it checked on Mon. I Was honest with my wife and our relationship is in a great place now. I had put all my fears to rest or I thought until these tiny red things should up.

They don't hurt just itch. Not sure if that makes a diffence?

Again thank you

it's unlikely that herpes would just be showing up now, 5 months after the encounter.

you have a history of cold sores which is hsv1. hsv1 is the risk from receiving oral sex.  you never had any reason to test for herpes from the oral sex encounter.

odds are what is going on isn't due to herpes. see your provider monday for a proper exam.
