ugh freaking doctors!!!

So my BF went to see his primary care doc about getting a herpes select IgG blood test (I even wrote it down for him). We wanted to check his status because I have HSV2 but of course want to know what we need to do going forward with our sex life blah blah. The doctor told him that there is no such test for herpes unless you have an outbreak because they are all inaccurate and then told him that he should just break up with me because he doesn’t want to contract "the herps" Im like really???? What doctor says that!? Now we are both incredibly frustrated. He got a blood test ordered but who knows for what?? Should he go get the blood work done? Get a second opinion?

He didnt go get the blood work done. I dunno what frustrates me more; the stupid doctor or the fact that my BF doesnt take his health seriously.  I may drag him to a Planned Parenthood on a Sat or just order the damn test myself, but it may have to wait until after the holidays.  We're not having sex anyway, so I guess it doesnt matter right now.

when he gets his test results, ask him to get a copy of them for you to post here.

if it's the wrong testing, he can just order up his own through healthcheckusa.com or tstd.org.

I would say second opinion... Definitely. Wish I could type more than that, but I'm quite shocked at this.
