Scared...

by TexasGuy999, 3 hours
A woman I know has had herpes for close to 20 years, she has been on medicine for years, has no lesions, her doctor recently told her her antibodies were very weak, they were dormant, and that her risk of transmission was very low.  She does not have herpes1 at all.  She gave me oral sex, used my finger in her anus and her vagina.  I had a very small cut on my thumb and touched her vagina for about 10 secs.  My genitals did not touch hers at all.  She has been having sex with another guy for the last year and he has no trace.  But I am scared to death I picked it up.

That is extremely unlikely! almost not at all.
1) female to male transmission is much lower than male to female.
2)you never even had sex with her.
Dont worry!

actually it doesn't matter how long you've been infected with herpes or what your igg number is, studies show you are still shedding about the same amount whether infection 1 year, 10 years or 20 years or longer even.  The provider your partner saw was undereducated about herpes it sounds like :(

is it a risk that you manually stimulated her? no not really. The skin on the hands in general is very thick and resists infection easily with herpes. A cut can put you at a bit higher risk but really no reason to think that you contracted herpes whitlow from this at all.

don't be scared to death about herpes dear, be educated about it!  1 out of every 2-3 of us has hsv1 and 1 out of every 4-5 has hsv2 in the US alone. It's incredibly common!

But do you think I caught it from her touching herself and then using her hand as she gave me oral sex?  Also can I catch genital herpes via that cut in my hand?

no that was not a risk for you either.

no you wouldn't contract herpes through the cut in your hand and have it travel to your genitals. It would be a herpes infection on your hand aka herpes whitlow.

My sister has a history of coldsores and though she's had no sores on her lip for several years, allowed my 6 month baby to out her hand in her mouth then my baby put it in her own mouth about 20 seconds later.  I'm terrified she may have caught herpetic whitlow or oral herpes.
