Peace Of Mind

Hello,

Earlier this year, I received unprotected oral sex from a sex worker, and about a week later, a small bump started to appear on the shaft of my penis. The bump was painless at first, then it grew in size a bit, and that area became a little tender. To the top, there was a small indent it seems, and it would produce very little pus. I visited the doc, and he said it was a bacterial infection, and treated it with antibiotics and a cream. It decreased in size dramatically after about a week of treatment, but never totally went away. It became very small and it wasn't a bother.

Now, about 3 weeks ago I had a sexual encounter with an ex-girlfriend. She gave me unprotected oral sex, and we had protected vaginal sex. About 5 days later, I noticed the same bump start to act up again, and got bigger. The same sore/tender feeling came back, and this time when I burst it, there was a bit of pus. About 2 days after bursting it, it went back down in size, a small scab formed and it seems to be fading. I am going to see my doc next week, but can anyone tell me if this sounds like herpes? I dread that it could be. Thanks.

Thank you Grace. I saw my doc today and he feels pretty certain it's a bacterial infection. I'm on antibiotics now, and applying a topical cream, and it's nearly invisible now.

Thanks again for the responses guys.

typically hsv1 is what is transmitted when receiving oral sex. it typically presents with very "classic" symptoms - numerous lesions that are painful.

this doesn't sound at all like genital herpes going on. see your provider for a proper exam again to try to get a better idea of what is going on.

Thank you.

Any other experienced people willing to give their opinion on what I described? I'll greatly appreciate it.

Doesn't really sound like it. I will get bumps like that and zits from oral sex with girls I know have no stds. I think the bacteria just causes things like this.
