Self-transfer of HSV from coldsore to genitals?

This isn't very pleasant to talk about. I get facial herpes (coldsores on the lip) around once or so a year and I currently have an active one on my lip. I have touched it multiple times throughout the day and earlier (this is the unpleasant part) I absentmindedly picked off scab on my pubic mound (formed by an ingrown hair) and my finger made contact with the open sore after the scab was removed. Is it possible that I have transferred the virus from my coldsore on my lip to this open sore by rubbing/picking at it?

Your body builds antbodies which help keep the infecrion at bay. You have a well established oral hsv1 infection. Meaning you've had it for quit some time. This means that it would be incredibly rare to spread the virus to another area. Hsv doesn't live outside the body very long and transferring it by hand it not realistic. All in all you have no reason to be concerned
