Should I be retested?

I received oral sex from a friend in December. I tested for HSV 1 and Hsv 2 at the 12 week mark and they both came back negative. Since then, I have had burning in my legs and a rash in the food of my buttocks that the dermatologist said was inverse Psoriasis, which I have been diagnosed with before. I have had a lot of burning with no rash or visible lesions but symptoms as if thighs have been rubbing and muscle soreness. It will be 16 weeks next week. Should I get another test done?

Most sites recommend 12-16 weeks. How likely would it be to test negative at 12 and positive at 16?  I'm just concerned as all these unexplained symptoms have been lingering for a while.

Hi, testing negative at the 12 week mark could be considered conclusive. Most herpes specialists advise that 16 weeks would be conclusive to rule out late seroconverters. But in your case i would rest assured that your negative since not even a low positive showed up.
