First of all, I have had cold sores (HSV-1) since I was a child. I am now 19 years old.
Almost two years ago I had an extremely brief, unprotected, homosexual encounter. I spent an excessive amount of time worrying about STD's. To put my mind at ease, I went to a local free clinic and was blood tested for HIV, HSV-2, and urine tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Fortunately, I tested negative for all of these things.
The only truly odd symptom I had before I was tested, was a paper cut like lesion on my penis. It didn't pop up like a blister, wart, etc. Almost two years have passed and I have not had a return of any kind of lesion on my penis.
Is it possible that the paper cut like lesion was a manifestation of herpes? Since I already have HSV-1, would my body provide enough resistance to prevent a genital infection of HSV-1? Is there any way to test for genital HSV-1 if I don't have an active lesion?
